A world-class park

Gathering Place began with a vision to meet Tulsa’s need for a welcoming, natural space where members of our diverse communities could come together to explore, learn and play.  

This vision became a reality in 2014, when Gathering Place broke ground to transform nearly 100 acres of land along the Arkansas river into a world-class park for all. Since welcoming its first guests in September of 2018, Gathering Place has become a symbol of a connected, diverse and vibrant city — one that expands opportunities for everyone to thrive. The park is a cornerstone of the community that’s improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in Tulsa. 

The park welcomes children, families, Tulsans and visitors from everywhere with world-class programming and attractions. Gathering Place provides guests with access to beautiful gardens, trails, playgrounds, aquatic features and cultural events at no cost. Additionally, the park offers free education opportunities, from story time to art and musical programs.

Over the years, Gathering Place has been recognized with multiple national and international awards, including being named “Best City Park” by USA Today.

The park is committed to enriching the lives of Tulsans and as well sustaining our natural environment. Gathering Place seeks to enhance the river parks system while preserving and improving the native ecosystems that call the park home.
