In-Prison Programs

Since 2008, GKFF has invested in gender-responsive alcohol and drug treatment programs at certain Oklahoma Department of Corrections facilities to provide support and treatment for incarcerated women. To reduce the likelihood of recidivism, treatment assists female offenders with issues of substance abuse, trauma and relationships. In 2010 and 2011, the programs were evaluated by the University of Cincinnati to assess how closely these correctional programs met the principles of effective treatment. The GKFF programs were higher in every evaluated category as compared to 404 other programs nationwide. The final score at both Eddie Warrior and Mabel Bassett Correctional Centers was deemed highly effective.
